Cool, I believe there were 2 of them and someone owns one of the Buses right now.

Found these pictures in the archives of Amsterdam. They were taken in 1962.
The license RV-15-03 is very early january 1959 which makes this an early double cab.

It sounds like you are saying Double Cabs never had semaphores?

Aren't that prototype picture's?
I have never seen an original European double cab with semaphores.

Maybe? I don't know.

I've wondered in the past why no one has a semaphore Double cab but I thought maybe they were all lost to rust.
Low production at that time plus European weather.

I think those very early 55 Wolfsburg buses had some structural issues...possibly combined with cross wind problems...

at least they can haul away their own debris. thats what I call environment friendly.

my point exactly. There would have to be crewcabs with semaphores. prolly just not many made. Just think how few Binz crewcabs were built.

I have never seen one and the German book "VW Transporter - Die technische dokumentation 1950-1990" is mentioning that the double cab came out with the newer indicators also for the German market.
