June 1960.

my point exactly. There would have to be crewcabs with semaphores. prolly just not many made. Just think how few Binz crewcabs were built.

I think all factory Euro spec double cabs had flashing indicators. I've seen a few 1958 and 59 RHD DCs here in South Africa and all had nipple indicators in front. All other SA bus configurations got the June 1960 semaphore change.

i am not saying that i know for a fact that there were no blinkers on crewcabs in 58 or 59, i just have not seen any documentation that says so. But i do know for a fact that buses had semaphores through 59 and part way through 1960. A picture of a crewcab that looks exactly like a 1960 crewcab with later bumpers and blinkers is no proof that 58 and 59 models did not have semaphores or pressed bumpers.
And, yes, i have never seen one either, but then again, in the 80s and 90s i had seen no more than 10 crewcabs, and half of them we owned at some point. italian spec, swedish spec, us spec are different from German spec. show me the documentation.

Flipped the image. I'm guessing it was scanned from a transparency? The text under the beetle podium was reversed.

The single cab looks like velvet green in that light. Was there any color other than dove blue available at that time? I suppose it could have been any color you want, especially for a fancy auto show.

It is almost certainly dove blue. You could order buses in special paint, but it was very uncommon in the wolfsburg bus era. I can't think of many in that era other than some postal yellows. What is more common in that era is primer delivered buses which were painted locally.

So probably just the lighting and film exposure making it look green.

Velvet green is a great truck color.

I don't think these are Wolfsburg buses anymore. The beetle appears to be a large rear window, also has the large backview mirror, and possibly diamantgraumetallic paint. makes it a '58up model, so buses already built in Hannover. just saying.
really cool pic ! Cool
