Esslingen is badass with the Mittelaltermarkt, Weihnachtsmarkt, the Burg (great open-air concerts), Weinwanderung (ned da Kater am nächsten Dog)…if I could have driven my double cab there, I would have been complete haha.

It is either a ‘63 or first-half ‘64, given the rear fender lip and the ice pick front handles. But, I believe a ‘63, since the louvers are outies still, right?

You are correct on 63-early 1964 but the outies continued on trucks until the redesign in 66-67 where they were placed over the wheel well

Good to know. I don’t care for push-button era, so I remain wittingly ignorant. Haha

Our Once Upon A Time Bus. Gone in the Summer of 1964 due to blown engine during the family move from DC to Texas Gulf Coast/Valley.
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

A friend ran it through a colorized app as a test. Picture is from early 1961 in Texas, where my older Sister was adopted[ Mom had been in a car accident a few years earlier and was then unable to ever have children from the surgery]
I've never seen my Dad with that haircut, so that's kind of funny to me... Razz Razz
Cropped off to the right, but Dad is holding my infant older sister in his arms while Mom looks on. Bus is in the background, waiting to take them back to DC for a few more years before they moved back to Texas perm.

H.G.Orson wells War Of The Worlds. The spot you see before you was where a split bus once was, before it was dematerialized by the death ray. LOL Thank you for the correction Who.Me? Wink
