Not sure where to put this, so please move it if necessary... I just stumbled upon it today. Massive archive of factory & production line photos etc., many of which are familiar, but quite a few I've never seen. Links to some old film clips, etc. Also quite a few PDF articles on various aspects of VW history. Has anyone else ever seen this site?
The format looks good, but navigation is a little wonky. I had to fool around with it a bit to figure out what was where but lots of great material.

A couple old commercials that stood out:

A lifetime of viewing to see the whole chronology. Great bus photos in the last date-span. |

That's funny how he towed the truck and trailer up a hill with the hand brake on. I guess those old 36horse motors are stronger than I thought. _________________ Prosit!

I think so. I submitted a request a while ago to purchase a couple, and I got confirmation a few days later that I would be contacted when production models were ready for purchase. I was #7. _________________ 1973 Standard Beetle - running maintenance thread - https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=675712&highlight=

Interesting to see cut down hoops on a Single Cab in a period picture. _________________ Andy

Were lower hoops an option?

Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |
