I have tried to find further information on this subject and if I am correct the active carbon canister to absorb fuel vapour was not installed on buses as described by M-Code 026.

M-Code 026 Description with activated carbon canister to absorb fuel vapour,

Model, All, 1968-1972, USA-California
Model, 21-23, 1967-1976 Japan
Model, 21-23, 1976-1978, Australia.

It seems that this was not installed on European buses.

Does someone have the correct indications on how to install the fuel vent lines on a 1974-75 1.8 Type 4 Engine Dual Bus Carb without charcoal canister?

My Euro spec bus has the vent nipple in the fan housing plugged as seen below.

Any fellow Euro members who have a Euro Spec bus can send us a pic of the engine bay to solve this mystery.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Any fellow members who have a Euro Spec bus can send us a pic of the engine bay to solve this mystery? Or explain how the fuel venting system is connected.

Your help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Not sure about Euro buses, but the earliest ACVWs simply vented the gas tank to the atmosphere. Perhaps that is how Euro buses were.

It just so happens this diagram from Mayor Atwell depicts the 75 Euro system exactly.

Canister equipped buses have the canister installed where #28 is shown.
