Hello all....

Just wanted to post up here in this forum now that I have a reason to. Very Happy

I answered an add in a local "trade" paper last week for a 66. When I talked to the owner he said it was a numbers matching car and was in good shape. I didn't need another project but figured I'd go check it out. It is still pretty OG.

Car is solid, pans, channels, etc. It has 2 spots of rust in the front corner of the rear wheel wells about the size of a silver dollar. That's all that is visible at this point anyway.

Interior is nice, no tears in the seats, uncut dash etc. Should clean up nice.

The engine isn't locked but the PO said he was running it, it got hot, lost power and he parked it then stuck it in an enclosed trailer for the last few years. So I'll be rebuilding it before running it. Not a big deal there for me. I'd rather rebuild 100 engine before....

It has a couple spots of damage. It had a light hit to the rear (which also got the front bumper). The rear bumper, left rear fender, rear apron and front bumper all need work. It was also re-sprayed once with a "close" color to the OG Bahama Blau but it's not a perfect match.

Plans are to keep it pretty OG. Immediate plans are to rebuild the 1300 stock, repair the body as needed, go thru the mechanics and make it a daily-ish driver for now. Eventually I'd like to restore it properly to a nice daily driver.

I'd be interested in opinions of value as she sits, I think I own it right but I'd like others opinions.

Here are some pics the day of picking it up. Thanks to Rob (NcDad) for helping me go and get it.

Dang... Dan... Smile
You guys sure luck into some decent cars over there.
Nice find.

My opinion on value... Here in the Southeast, as you know, if has at least solid Heater Channels, its worth 1000 to start, but you have a few known damaged issues. There could be, and probably is more hidden.
Id say fair estimate is 1200-1500 pretty easy for our area for a decent fairly complete, non running, project starter.
Get it running, rolling, and stopping and it will increase the value of course.
I bet you cant wait to start some more body work.... Laughing

Fun time, but hot!
Best part was watchin the wheels flop back and forth when you turned around in the parking lot, and seeing your face thinking a tie rod snapped. Shocked Laughing
Nothing a bungie cord couldn't fix to get 'er home.

I'm watchin' this thread.
