The headlights do not work, I discovered that this is due to a faulty ingnition switch. (I removed the connector from the ignition switch and have the red and black/yellow wire shorted and then I could operate the headlights). Is there an easy way to replace the switch? |

If you don't have the Bentley repair manual then go
here. www.ratwell.com and scroll down to #78 [STEERING COLUMN]
in the tech section.
With a bus as old as yours it's likely the Shear bolt for the column
has already been replaced with an allen type .and is is an easy job
on a 79.Make sure when you are done to check the steering wheel
to housing gap and adjust accordingly. _________________ V.W.owner since 1967 |
