i had talked to Colin about picking up a lower control arm and mentioned i
needed ball joints as well. Colin referred me to a great web site for the parts.
when i came by to pick up the LCA, Colin said he had all the parts and he
would just sell them to me for the same price he payed online. Because of this
I was able to redo the front end of my van and get it driving for the first time
in 6 months!
Colin is hands down the best guy i've ever gotten parts from. Will defintley
look here for parts and advice down the road! _________________ 1963 Beetle Type I

We were headed North in our 1990 Multivan on the first day of a family camping trip when it conked out on the NYS Thruway (Rt. 87) by Saugerties and we ended up stuck in the Malden service area. I got in touch with Colin and told him I thought the fuel pump went out so he offered to bring a fuel pump right over. I knew as soon as I met him, we were going to be all right. He really understands what it means to be helpful.
After a bit of testing in the rainy parking lot, we found out the pump was OK so I decided to take up Colin’s kind offer to help fix it at his home. A short trip on a rollback brought us there and we had a great evening visiting with him and his wife and camping among parts vanagons in his driveway.
The next day Colin dug in and worked on the engine till it ran like it should. He thoroughly checked out everything (turned out to be loose wiring) to be sure we would have a trouble free trip. He even called us a few days later to see how we were doing! Thanks to him, the van ran great and we had a terrific trip to the Adirondacks and Vermont.
The hospitality and generosity shown by Colin and his wife, made my family feel welcome and turned a stressful disaster into a fun visit. He gave of his time by working all morning to get us back on the road and he sure didn’t do it for the money! He seems to thrive on good will and altruism.
I agree with his - pay it forward - philosophy that if we all help each other, no one would be without help. Thanks for your help, my friend!

Colin supplied me with a bunch of miscellaneous items my 83 was missing.
Spoke with him on the phone and then we exchanged several emails.
Items arrived safely and as described at a more than fair price.
I will be working with Colin in the future.
Thanks!! _________________ 1983 Vanagon 1.9L GL - destined to become a dry camper

Bought quite a few parts from Colin and many more in the future I'm sure. One of the best people to deal with on the Samba. _________________ Westy HID Projector Retrofit |

Absolutely no problems getting parts from Colin. I've been looking for a complete westy interior for some time and he happened to have one he was parting out. He was very quick to respond to emails and over the phone. And as I was making a 10 hour drive to pick it all up he made sure I knew exactly what I was getting. He took pictures of removing everything so I would know how to install it back into my van. He personally took the time to make sure I got everything I would need to convert my passenger van into a tin top westy. He even waited for me to arrive before uninstalling the kitchen, so I would have a real understanding of how to install it into my van. I don't regret the 24+ hrs of driving I did in one weekend at all. Everything was as I had hope and more, colins a great guy and a true vanagon enthusiast. I wouldn't hesitate getting anything from Colin, he's not just out to make a buck but to enjoy and help others enjoy what it is we love about these funny little automobiles. I expect to to do plenty of business with Colin in the future. Good parts for good prices from good people, period. |

Colin was great in following up on a wanted ad I had about a tan Vanagon headrest. He thought I wanted something in perfect condition and was perfectly frank about the not perfect condition of the headrest he had. In other words he wanted me to be satisfied with my purchase from him. Thanks Colin! The headrest is just what I need. Peace. -Sean _________________ Sean Thomas

I purchased a grey captain chair, front fiberglass bumper with spoiler, and a power steering hose com Colin. Colin provided an accurate description and detail HD photos of each part. The parts that I purchased were all in good condition and were as identified in the photos. When I arrived to pickup up the parts, Colin had them all laid out with the attachment hardware labeled and tagged in a zip lock bag. Colin explained and showed me how to attachment the front bumper since I was replacing the stainless bumper on my 87 camper. I spent approximately two hours there as Colin showed me all the work he had performed on several vanagons that he had rescued which included the removal and installation of rebuilt engines. I was very impressed with his ability to replace all the brake lines on one of his vanagons. He sent me a web site that showed how to replace the brake lines and convinced me to do that on my van and it is not as hard as some people think with the right tools. Colin is very knowledgable about these vanagons and has several vanagons to use for spare parts. He showed me how to remove the AC and cabinets in the back of my camper. The front spoiler is the only part that he had not completely removed due to corroded hardware and he was taking his time not to damage it as bolts had to be cut off. Colin indicated that he would ship it to me. Overall, I enjoyed my visit with Colin and would recommend contacting him first if you need to replace some parts to keep your vanagon on the road. If you are ever near exit 20 off I87 in NY I recommend you stop by and visit him.
Thank you Colin |

Colin is an awesome guy! My wife and I drove up from Pennsylvania to pick up some Westy sliding windows from him. Met his wife and both were really great people! His knowledge of vanagon and willingness to share it is unparalleled. A very real true person and it was a great experience all around! I will definitely be keeping his number handy for other parts I need and may take him up on his offer to camp in the 86 acres of tranquility across from his home near Woodstock! Thanks so much Colin- you made our trip awesome! _________________ /// '89 Syncro Sport Joker, Reimo Hightop, mTDI

Colin is excellent to deal with and takes his sales seriously.
I inquired about a set of front shock bumpers (NLA) and he had a set which looked practically new - very reasonable price as well. It was late Friday afternoon (possibly evening for Colin) and he had already scheduled to attend an event on Saturday.
No worries, he shipped them out the next morning and I had them (in San Diego) the following Monday and packaged like they might explode.
I wish he carried everything possible for these vehicles - he'd be my #1 source.

Colin was awesome to work with for parts!
I have looked low and high for the replacement AC components that attach to the inside ceiling of my Westfalia. Colin had all the parts!
1 - He took great pains to remove them from the donor with care.
2 - He sent me all the installation hardware (bolts, screw, etc.)
3 - He packed all the parts like he works at FedEx (super cushioned)
4 - He took pictures of the parts and emailed them to me.
5 - He emailed pictures of the packaged boxes prior to shipping
6 - He got exact shipping quotes
7 - He emailed me when they shipped & gave me tracking #s
8 - He spent a lot of time on the phone helping me figure out stuff
Awesome guy!!!
Check with Colin first for parts |
