I gave up on all those shows. I'm convinced they are for people that don't even like cars because they spend more time on hi-jinks and field trips than actual work. Who really wants to watch that. The only show thats worth a dammed is that show where the British guy buys a car and the other one restores it for sale. They only replace what needs to be replaced and use as much of the original car as they can. Seems more legit. _________________ Make it three yards, motherf*****, and we'll have us an automobile race

Do you mean "Wheeler Dealer"? I like that show (especially because they like VWs), but as with all such shows, there is a lot of "reality" missing from the "reality show." When you see the final product you notice a lot of additional work was done that was not included in the show. Still, I agree it's the best of the bunch, with "Chasing Classic Cars" a close second. |

haha this topic was just brought up in another thread here:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=631382
where I agreed 100% with your assessment of Wheeler Dealers-- only car show on TV worth watching anymore, because Edd has to hunt down problems with the cars and fix them, all the while showing you exactly what he's doing. There's a bit of stuff left out but it's due to time constraints not because the producers took over the show with a bunch of fake drama.
And as previously mentioned, it helps that Edd is a huge VW fan! _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.

he has mentioned before on the show that his first car was a bug and that's was when/how he started as a mechanic
as for counting cars those guys are a joke but what do you expect since they are close friends with the pawnstar guys and that's about the fakest "reality" tv show on the air next to that American pickers bullshit
btw anyone else remember those hot rod show that used to be on what is spike tv now?
the hosts were white guys but everytime they show the work being done there was a brown hand doing it _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

I got to see the Von Dutch at Antique Archeology this past Saturday as we were passing through on the way home from CA in the dune buggy. Was really a cool adaptation onto a bike. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

Yeah, but then you can't enjoy the view out the Bus windows, and actually BE in a VW Bus (regardless of the type of power transfer to the rear wheels). Besides, who wants to be in a BMW... (that's not a question). |

It's just a lame idea to put a 3 speed autostick in a bus of all things. _________________ CH³NO²

SubaruGears is now cutting a Reverse Ring and Pinion for the Suby Automatic. Testing shows it is a very fast beast coupled to the Turbo ej25 engine. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

Oh...agreed...I didn't even check the spec...I thought it would be something trick like a fully-automatic race trans or something |
