Do you think the original? Was this type of bus produced in 1979?

Looks like a real Westfalia from here, can't speculate on the exact model without seeing the interior layout though. That top should lift straight up, something's broken.

It is a original Westfalia pop top (not from Syro or other) -
and the correct bigger one for the late bay window (early bay windows have a little shorter one). And the bus has the original Westfalia front spare wheel cover (pedestrian protection) that is not so easy to add later, but was also available as single item mounted only at Westfalia itself. So I guess it will be an original Westfalia from beginning.

It may be answered by more details as the m-plate and photos from inside and from the roof around the pop top.
