My wife informed me the other day that my enthusiasm for ACVW's was bordering on addiction.

I looked at her and said "I belong to the ACVW Rescue Society and I have to do everything in my power to save them!"

She just walked away, mumbling.

Addiction is a disease. Hoarding is a mental illness.

Does your wife drive any ACVW's if not maybe she should start, then she would be an addict.

Well as far as the better half goes.....I was perfectly content with having 3 ACVWs. Nice mix - a buggy, my 65 bug and the woodie. Then SHE decided that she needed more than a fair weather daily driver (she has the buggy), so I built her the 61 bug ..... VW #4. And THEN she has a dream about another car.....almost ready to pull the body off of #5 for media blasting.....

Its tough being the spouse of someone with this affliction.... I think I need to form a suport group VW-Anon or something like that.... Laughing

No - AA is for Alcholics, Al-Anon is support for families of Alcholics. So therefore, VW-Anon would be for spouses/families of VW addicts..........

But I liked yours better Laughing

My wife really DOES enjoy ACVW's and is looking forward to me finishing her '64. She just made that comment when I was putting my copies of VW Trends in order and my comments about getting a Westy to join the rest of my collection.

Hi, my name is Gord....It's been 5 years since I bought a VW.

I am an addict, but I feel I have it under control...with the help of many vw parts dealers and the nice people on the Samba.... I still feel the need to buy VWs, and I always will, I just don't let it run my life any more.

Gordo.

I was informed I have Volksitis... No known cure thankfully.
I am one of a very fortunate who actually married a "Car Girl"... She loves them when they are done, but no so much when they are disassembled throughout the back yard....side yard... garage, and cellar,....... She understands my final "agenda" the majority of the time.

I believe I have Acute Volksitis. My wife's always saying I have "A cute bug". Razz

I'm a parts hoarder for now...at least until I get to where I can start putting my '66 back together again.

I took a hiatus from VWs for awhile, and the thing that got me was when hearing the ring of the valves back there again, it was soothing.
My oldest boy grew up " in the womb" my wife drove a vw as a daily driver while pregnant.
Upon delivery we brought him home in the new truck, he screamed all the way home.
Put him in an ACVW and he fell asleep.

They call it conditioning.

I just found out that the first vw I rode in as a child is sitting in A garage since 1975
I've been obsessing about it.

Are referring to the two that sold for over a 100k?
