I've read many threads on air conditioning in the past few weeks but I've yet to run across any threads giving a glimpse of the actual install. Anyone know of any threads with the Gilmore install during installation or external links showing installations? I have a Gilmore air conditioner coming in the next week or two and I'd like a little info on the how-to's and pitfalls to avoid. Thanks to those threads I think I've gone with the best air conditioner supplier for the ACVW - the Gilmore setup.

Thanks.

I'm sure you know there's a huge number of threads on The Samba on the subject: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/search.php?search..._chars=200

Surely the Gilmore will come with full instructions...their website says they will also answer any questions you have.

Yes - I've seen and read all of those threads. I'd just like to see what I'm going to be dealing with. Not that I can't do the work - been doing most of my own work for 40-some years - just curious while I'm waiting for the unit to get here whats involved.

I met this guy in person and have seen his work first hand. (sorry no pics) He's top notch. Unrelated, but he put my windows in WITH T molding when no one else could. If I could afford an AC system, I wouldn't buy anywhere else.

There isnt much room to work with under the dash but he does great for the amount of space given.
