I thought I'd start this thread to have a break down of all the different applications of '68 - '79 Bay window Bus door panels:

'68 - '79 the outer shape, door opener and window crank holes are all the same

'68 year only has 1x different door fastener hole in the lower part of the panel and door

'68 - '79 has the strap door grab closer

'75 - '79 Westy only (?) that had the vinyl and foam arm rest / grab handle

'72 was the introduction of the lower sliding exhaust air vent and until '79

The plastic fresh air ducts / arm rests to the back area started in '72 for station wagen models only with rear seats

IMO '75 - '79 was the only years that had the vinyl covered foam arm rest / door closer which IMO is the rear section arm rests (or was it just the Westy's that had the vinyl covered foam arm rests?)

If I'm wrong or actual owners can correct my mistakes...please post and I'll make changes to this top post. Wink

JM

Not sure about other years but '70 and '71 Westy's had no armrests of anytype. Only the door pull.

All years had the ducts to the back on stationwagons only, the hole pattern changed a few times, consult the unspeakable green book for exact dates Razz The sliding lower vents started with the 72 model year and all models had those. The armrests in Westfalias is a later thing, I'm going to guess 76 but I can't say for sure.

So, this is a '75 - '79 (is that the correct year range?) door panels with the foam and vinyl arm rests.
