I have a question that has been troubling me for quite some time now. I have used the gallery and search to answer my question, but it seems to have only confused me more.
What rim color was used for the 1974 L51P Olympic Blue KG Coupe? on the ones that i have seen with stock wheels, I have seen chrome, silver, white, black, and white blue, so which color is correct?

How is it 'NOS' if it has been modified?

From August 1969 production on (MY 1970), the Type 14 only could be had with silver wheels (paint code L91 "Chromfarbe" or "chrome color"), with chrome hubcaps and no trim rings.
As KG production moved along, the rim painting and acoutrements got simpler and simpler, aligning more with the concurrent Beetle in the 4-bolt era, and ultimately completely eschewing the aluminum trim rings, in what had to be a cost-cutting move. The 1969 Type 14 was the last to receive the slotted aluminum trim rings; the stock silver paint of the 1970 model made them redundant. _________________ David Ruby
