After about 3 months of hassle I finally got the 17" x 7.5" wheels and tires on my 74 Thing. I had to switch to a 5 x 100 bolt pattern and if I don't like it, I can just put the original drums, 14" wheels, and tires back on. |

Looks good. Just curious if you are going to lower it? Just a question all you purist types don't get all bent out of shape! _________________ Schrodinger's cat walked into a bar and it didn't.

Borbet wheels, with tires. $100.00
Straighten 1 Wheel. $140.00
Rear drums, predrilled $158.25
Blank front drums $ 89.35
Front drums drilled $103.53
rebalance all 4 wheels $ 37.38
10 front studs (I had them) $ 20.00?
10 rear threaded studs $ 50.00
20 lug nuts $ 17.06
Porsche center stickers $ 20.00
Total $735.57
When I had everything apart I put new rear wheel cylinders on, and brake shoes and shocks all the way around, add $100. The only suspension mod was to countersink 2 rear spring plate bolts and cut a bit off the rear stops. 2 bolts, $3
Grand total to date just to get these wheels on, $838.57
Some prices include shipping costs and others have tax.
Next is a front end alignment. $50? |
