Spring for heater control cables

Anyone know the internal diameter and length of the spring which goes on the "L" shaped end of the heater control cable? Item 9 in the upper left corner of this schematic:

Mine's gone missing and the info doesn't seem to available anywhere. I thought I might be able to source something close through the local specialty hardware store(s).

its not really a normal spring unfortunately, its a spring -clip thing...can't imagine finding it anywhere but on a VW.

I've got piles of them but im certain a local VW guy could help you out no problem, even a VW shop that has extra buses laying around should be able to give you one.
