should i feel guilty about sellin my car to a young couple who like the bugs but expect them to run like a 2003 corolla?

felt a little bad watching her squeeze the car seat into the back while he figured out the shifter.

hope he adjusts the valves in a couple months so they ain't late to work.

I felt the same recently regarding a Bug I sold to someone. I was going over the care and feeding as they were leaving and he tells me he isn't mechanically inclined. But he was super pumped about buying a Bug.
The car was very reliable, hope he at least buys the Muir book I showed him.

All sales are final..I hope that you gave them an "out of sight warranty"..once it's out of your sight it's all theirs.

I don't like that warranty, seems too easy to get abused. I have always given a 30/30 warranty with my used cars. 30feet or 30seconds! Laughing

Joking aside, Cletus, If you did not lie to them about anything you have no reason to feel bad. It is a used car problems come up, if they got in over their head thinking it will be like a Corolla, you can't be blamed for thier ignorance.

Here's how I look at it. Beetles were the Civics of their time: they took a beating and kept on going. Yeah, doing all the maintenance will guarantee you'll have a reliable car for life. But skipping it, you'll probably have a pretty shitty running car, but you'll have a running car.
Just my observation living here in Southern California. I don't know how some people's Beetles are still running, but they are.
Though, personally, from a buyer's perspective, I wouldn't get an old Beetle if I had a baby. I'm cool driving them myself, but there are too many whack jobs on the road that I don't want the only thing between me and my kid being a layer of 18 gauge steel.
