Some ammonia and fine steel wool or a brillo pad or even the "scrubby" side of a dish sponge. The ammonia cuts straight through the dirt/grime/water spots/etc.

Be sure to use as fine of steel wool as you can find or a soft sponge. It's possible to put tiny spiderweb scratches in the glass.
