Yesterday I decided to pull the fan shroud off my recent project - a '64 Type 1. The engine is a 1500, but the PO had put on a doghouse shroud.

Since this bug hadn't been running for some time, I didn't want to start it before checking it out. Good thing.

Nestled on BOTH sides was a huge mouse nest made of some nice fabric that would have not only melted, but probably overheated the engine in no time.

That got me to wondering - what else have people found in their engines?
