Just finished another 1.8T Syncro conversion. Takes me about 2 days with everything on a rack ready to go! Were kicking out about 2-3 a month in house.
The Synfalia just turned over 70k miles on this 1.8T engine. No exhaust problems, no engine problems, no coolant hose problems, no electrical wiring problems.
I did have an ignition coil give out. Install a new on in about 2 minutes and on my way..

It looks like your using an adaptor plate and the WBX bellhousing, is that correct? Also do you sell just the engine support/mounts, and bellhousing/adaptor plates for people wanting other VW engine options? _________________ ASE Master Tech.

No badge? Still? I'll send one up to you!
We now have a system that enables me to complete the conversion efficiently

We have several sources now getting us all the components we need. That's the easy part... _________________ '90 Syncro Westy 1.8T with 180hp 174 torque, CA safe!

These engines and fitting kits look great! I nearly arranged a swap deal with my van heading your way and another coming back to me. I was thinking of getting one of your kits shipped over with it _________________ 16" syncro multivan pop top AHU TDI

Great kit ! Wow !
Does it matter what donor as long as it's AWP ? What about other engines like the TTs or A4 etc ? What is the difference between those engine codes ? Are they all the same block ?
Does it matter if it's manual or auto ? |

Our kit is developed on the AWP engine code. Most of the Audi TT engines are AWP. The Audi A4 are not. Any Jetta, GTI, Golf, Beetle Turbo S, Audi TT with that code will work.
The blocks are the same with other transverse engine codes 2000-2006 years. The electrical system is not.
It does not matter if you find an Auto or Manual car. You will need to find an engine computer system for a Manual car. We build wiring harnesses with either auto or manual system. _________________ '90 Syncro Westy 1.8T with 180hp 174 torque, CA safe!

How much $ does your source on Donor engines run? I know they can be all over the map, but I am trying to budget this the best way possible. I am down in Campbell, CA and have a truck so picking up the engine would be a breeze....
Thanks! |

Around 2-3k. The 1.8T engine comes complete with everything needed to finish the conversion. The price is shipped to your door _________________ '90 Syncro Westy 1.8T with 180hp 174 torque, CA safe!

The Intercooler used is the stock system from the donor 1.8T vehicle. CA smog laws require us to use original components.. _________________ '90 Syncro Westy 1.8T with 180hp 174 torque, CA safe!

d-oh ... Your price is right there on your website, of course.
Well, I was trying to figure out how much I need to spend for a complete engine and where I would one get it ? I've been checking eBay, local ads and Kijij. They seem to go for more than $3500 and +++ for a donor car. Shouldn't a complete and running car be better then an engine ripped out by a saws-all ?!
You mentioned the 2.0T. I drive one in my A3 and I love driving that car, especially with the APR ECU upgrade.
How different are the 1.8 and the 2.0 ? Seems to me that this could be a good candidate for transplanting. Those engines seem to become more plentiful by now too. |
