Are you talking about the alloy spare tire wheels that are so popular lately?

If so, is it not reasonable to expect that the center caps from the road alloys would fit?

Just guessing....

I'm no expert, but I don't think those are the spare wheel from a 944.... I believe it has a round hole for vents.

I notice that the center has 3 inside cap retaining lips... have you tried Porsche hubcaps (assuming the wheels came off same).

Those wheels sure look like standard issue 356C/912/early 911 steel wheels, so the 'flat' polished stainless hubcaps should work. They may be the inflata-spares that had the funny valve stem and a deeper center and lug nut stand-offs, but the edge of the center surrounding the mounting area have the 'bumps,' just as Stephen says. See the Stoddard online catalog for pictures, maybe Zim's. There is a really good repro out now, but a little pricey. To keep the match to the 'patina' of that great old VW, a set of used originals would work just fine, dings and all.....how many of those do you want? Cool

Damian, there is a hubcap on it's way to you via Priority mail. I'm curious!

I think that Bus looks perfect without caps. Personally, I've never liked those flat C caps.

Is case anyone is interested, the 912 hub cap fits the 944 / 924 temp spare tire rim.
