Most of those builds are so overkill it's silly. I wonder how many actually use them to their full capacity.

I will never understand why people choose crappy music over narration when making videos like this. |

at 5:20 there's an orange/white vanagon with a strange top/contraption..
as for music.. I'd say it's matter of taste, some have, some don't... |

Pic assist. I've seen tops/trailers like this but never set up on a Vanagon. The rear section pivots up and down on that front hinge, and that section of the roof has its own poptop section with a rear pivot. Innovan is one manufacturer who builts hinged units like this.

I like the little girl in the pink helmet sitting on her bike and checking out the arrinving vehicles!
And I'd much rather hear the sounds they make than any music whatsoever! _________________ '84 Vanagon GL 1.9 WBX

Syncronauts,
I couldn't find this "article" thread a while back, so I posted this info elsewhere. I came across this thread today.
I have an article from June 2019 OutdoorX4 magazine about Syncros to share.
I’ve been a subscriber of OutdoorX4 Magazine since they started several years ago and I’m excited that they have published an article about Syncros, focusing on our 2018 Safari adventure in Moab. It’s a great article, but then again I’d say that since I wrote it.
To see the Syncro Safari article excerpted from Issue 32, go here:
https://www.syncrosafari.org/moab-18---overview.html
The cover and pertinent article pages are shown in a photo gallery.
Check out OutdoorX4 Magazine at: https://outdoorx4.com/
Thanks for the photos from David Moise and Ron Chandler!
Wishing you all the best with your Syncro adventures!
Regards,

Hey! What the heck kinda double pop top is THAT.
Must be a home made job?
Found it in the video at 5:00 and 5:20, looks intriguing. _________________ One of these days I'm gonna settle down,
