Looks like a older Reimo interior in brown. It has a Reimo label on the pop top.

Hi. For my first post, I just wanted to be sure that everyone had a chance to see this Vanagon cameo in one of the latest Playboy shoots. The pics at this link seem to me to be the out-takes, she (the Van) looks much better in print!
Anyone know who's van they used??

Where the H.... Did you get this pickture?
This is from a dealership in Norway. They may be had a special "Camper week" at the dealership, sins there is a highroof Westy in the back also. At least i remember when the local VW dealer had a "camper week" and had a lot of different VW based campers on display. Specially i remember when i was inside a Karmann Gypsy, and thought it was stupid because we couldn't sit together in the front of the car. Well 32 years later i still doesn't like this "sit in each end of the car" interior of the Karmann Gipsy. But i do have an 87 Karmann LT L, with the sofa behind the front seats. Unfortunately The Samba doesn't have a section for the LT, and it doesn't belong in either the "water cooled VWs" or "Other VW Vehicles" forums, so i can't post any picktures of it.
Well to your question. This is a -83 or -84 Reimo Interior. Reimo was, or stil is imported to Norway by a man named Truls Farner, and his company TruFa. On some of their cars they added this grey stripes you see on the camper. The interior was assembled in Norway, but they only used Reimo parts. They made and sold more than 1500 Reimo interiors in Norway. You see the brown vertical stripes behind the back seat. It is because it is 2 cabinets side by side. In my -85 it is just one long section. In build quality i would say it is 99% of the Westfalia but in interior space and practiality it is 200% of the Westy. _________________ 87 75hp VW LT 28 Karmann LT L, 90 T3 Syncro 75hp AAZ Reimo Camper. 00 T4 102hp TDI Caravelle bus. |

On Yahoo today, maybe not for the first time? Interestingly, most of the article is about repairs to a vehicle not a Vanagon.

This turned up on another forum and I mentioned that the Westy's rear bumper and the slider handle are missing but no one seemed to mind and some contributors offered to help her work on it. Thoughtful and generous guys, dontcha think? _________________ '87 Westy in Wolfram Grey Metallic |

I'm also active on www.advrider.com and there's a non-motorcycling section called Fluff, with a Shiny Things forum and one of the popular threads therein is Vans! One fellow is a prolific photo finder and poster and a few days ago he posted the pic of vwcampin's Syncro/trailer combo at a creek crossing, the photo he posted here on Samba in the "lakes and rivers" thread. I notified our guy and he went over to take a look. The same fellow also posted this pic further along in on the same page and I did not recognize the van, but one of you might. Looks like a Samba kind of rig. Link to that thread's page below the photo.

"After the engine conked out in Arizona, a tow truck delivered them to an R.V. park in Sedona. They stayed there for a month while Smith replaced every ground wire in the van."

Yes. My wife and I read the article last night and agreed that they were a nice looking couple, but soft-core porn isn't really part of the yoga or van "lifestyle" from our perspective. My wife is a yoga instructor and we've owned VW vans the entire twenty five years we've been together. |

Don't hate the player, hate the game.
If they can turn their lifestyle into a business and support themselves, then more power to them. People like to dream and live vicariously. I'm not fooled by the advertising, but who really cares anyway? I'm also not fooled by the skinny blonde as far as any sort of standard for beauty. Again, who cares? Focusing on my own life tends to take up all of my time and efforts.
