it back fires when shifting and has a loud ticking while driving? Doesnt cut out while driving. just those two issues. any ideas? _________________ 1967 Bug:

Maybe a air leak in the manifold. Sounds like what I had.

Pop the lid and get in there and listen around. I know you just swapped that alt. in...if the sounds just started I would be rather suspect of that general area.
Check those connections on that header and flange.
We kind of need more info on the nature of the noise or where it is coming from
Could be valves, could be timing, could be leaking, could be... |
