No. Have you looked at page 97.140?

I am looking at it now; Main wiring diagram for AFC 1980-81. I am not seeing how it shows these connections and when I look at the same wiring diagram for my 86, I don't see how it traces to the various G connectors either. I will delve deeper into the Bentley to see if there is another page that will help.

Perhaps you looked at 97.14 instead. Page 97.140 should be the 86-88 Air-conditioning diagrams. These show VW using the G1/G3 as the dash power source for it through fuse #12.

It would be preferable to put power windows on the X-bus. Use G1 or 3.
