Has anyone run these? Opinions? My bug has the Berg 5 with all of the associated mounts. And will have a torque bar. If it adds a bit of protection as advertised, it may be worth it.

I know guys running Autocraft engines pushing 30lbs. of boost in the sand that have thru bolted the trans using 10mm head studs and had great luck. IMHO, the Eyeball Eng. upgrade looks like it would definitely help a trans last.

Thanks man! I thought of it as cheap insurance considering the money I have in my Berg5!

Not in my application.

I haven't run slicks at the track for a few years. And on street tires, the tires break loose and give me enough slip.

Nah... i'm OK without it.

I see it as a waste of time and a lot of extra weight. The stud bosses that hold the thing on will break out of the case. The correct way to strenghten the case is to weld gussets on the case.

I see it as a definite improvement. Anything you can do to support the transmission to prevent R/P deflection is a good thing. Is it needed in every car, probbly not but if you have a high HP motor and are racing then yes I would run one. A car with street tires and a strong street motor, might be a bit over kill.

And , I don't see how you would tear out the stud bosses unless the tranny is moving and with this girdle setup it's not moving unless you have SERIOUS power.

If it is a street car, I'd go with a steel tranny mount and weld in mid mount, Kafer bar, and HD side covers. I'm running this setup in my buggy and my 57 and it has kept the tranny together with over 200hp at the motor. But I agree, it's cheap insurance considering the cost of a Berg 5

Well put Brad! I'm installing a kafer bar, already have heavy duty side plates, and all of the berg 5 mounts. This just caught my eye. The weight comment threw me, as it's not a big piece. And yes I know every 100 lbs =1/10 lol

From what I can see in the picture, it doesn't look like the top stud that goes over the top of the case would clear the taller rib on the rhino case.
