Thanks for everybody's nice words!
There is a lot of labor to make these to the highest quality standards. We start with your plastic original cover and pad it on the top and sides. The leather is inspected for defects or flaws, templates are use to produce the shapes and then the stitching and forming begins.
With overwhelming emails I am trying to reply as soon as I can. Please click on my name for my phone # for a quicker response. We are building more and taking orders right now.

Yes with due respect to The Samba I have chosen not to post a price on this thread. This thread started as a cool idea to compliment my SA leather steering wheel. So I showed pictures of it and didn't know it would be this popular. Thanks to all the interests this will become a new product for our beloved Vanagons. Classified Ad coming soon. Questions - PM or call me.
Thank You,

I would in for two, one in black, one in brown.
BTW, I am assuming you have a pattern already, so the we can install ourselves? _________________ "Two things are infinite: The universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Albert Einstein

So we would need to send you the pod cover, before you could make one for each cover? _________________ "Two things are infinite: The universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Albert Einstein

French stitching (done the right way) isn't just very good looking, it's also verrry strong. Great to see that there are more nuts than me draping the bus in new cloths.
EDIT: Lost a word that made the sentence more or less the opposite...

These are top of the line-genuine aircraft leather and all the french seams are strengthened with a backing sewed in.
Todays new model - Brown leather with cream stitching for color

Well, I don't see how it could come from a male cow ... Isn't that kind of like the femailman?
I would love to see something like this for a steering wheel cover for the older, larger steering wheels. I don't have power steering, so I don't really want to go with a smaller diameter. I also really like the way the larger wheel is so easy to hold resting my arms on the armrests.
Those covers are looking really sharp. I have a few of the covers sitting around. Let me know if you are interested, so as to have a stock for quicker turn-around. |

VERY nice instrument cover! I vote for Black with Black stitching, to match the Black SA steering wheel.
For those wanting a leather steering wheel, usually made of Black unobtanium, there are a few available at VanCafe at the moment.

(no brown was ever available afaik)
You might also want a Black leather shift knob, the Momo ALBK1 (I also tried the short one, ASBK1, not as good imo)
Staying tuned for the leather seat upgrade _________________ My Soapboxes: Inflation; Handling; Gearing; Decoupling; Swepco |
