"Manx Style" describes the original design idea of the Manx. A molded tub body that fits a 14 1/4" - 14 1/2" inch shortened VW Type 1 pan with a separate molded hood that a windscreen attaches to.
There are other buggy designs that may use a full length pan, have a one piece body (Hood Molded in), have doors, flip front or flip rear portions of the shell. One example is the Meyers Towd which is not a "Manx Style" buggy and neither is the Meyers SSR with the forward flip up doors.
So, describing a buggy as "Manx Style" does not mean the seller, purchaser, advertiser is trying to fake a Manx or a Manx part, they are just describing what type of body design it is. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

Cleanish buggy, but seller was mislead on info from person telling him that it's a Manx -
From seller: "The guy I got it from originally told me it was a Manx Dune Buggy so when I check the details I found they all matched."
Hi Glenn!

I saw several non Meyers Manx buggies at the TX VW Classic that had this real cool dome looking emblem identical to the Manx badge.... They were very cool decals but several of the buggies that had them on their hoods where not real Manx.
Just search down to the buggy pics

To be fair it isn't advertized as a 'Meyers' Manx. |

Do you remember the guy trying to pawn off the yellow "Genuine Meyers Manx" on Fleasepay? Looks like he is at it again. This time at the Barrett Jackson Auction in Scottsdale. It comes up for auction on Wednesday Jan. 16th. It is advertised as a "Manx Style" but has the Manx emblems on it. I know I am going to be watching to see what is said.

Just think, that this could have been yours today for the magnificent price of $8,000.00+.
It must have been the dash badge that said it is a MANX!!! |
