Of all things, the motor was extremely troublesome with leaking fuel from carbs, then leaking oil from lifter tubes, to other fuel problems. Had to send the whole motor back to CPR for him to redo it and still problems persisted. Finally, got the bugs out and its on the road, just in time for summer.

Be sure to knock off the powdercoat on the lug nut seats! Would hate to lose a wheel after all that work.

Some more updates.

Had to take the motor out and send back for rebuild. Carbs were leaking fuel 4 minutes after shut off. The motor also sprung a couple of oil leaks which could have been due to fuel getting on the rubber seals both inside and outside of motor.

Meanwhile, the interior is all done and complete.

It mounts to the #4 exhaust studs. I did have to put longer studs on. I have 3/8th thick flanges though. Sorry no pic.

The first bracket you had, being the hose clamp, has a danger of having sharp edges that could cut the hoses. The second bracket is just plain retarded, why would you bolt a bracket to the exhaust to move the hose off the exhaust?

Seems like you want a combo of the two. No sharp edges like the billet mount plus no contact to the exhaust. Can you modify the new billet mount to use a bracket not connected to the exhaust?

BTW, the bus looks great.

This is now fixed, with the bracket that was suggested. Hoses are clear of the exhaust pipe.

How hot does the bracket get from being mounted to the exhaust flange? Should I be concerned? I do have another level of insulation with the header wrap.

Even though the motor is brand new and built by a trusted builder, all is/was not smooth.

The carbs leaked from float bowls everytime it was a hot day and after the bus was shut off. So I installed the Holley pressure regulator and gauge, along with a few other important meters.

To keep with the clean look of the engine and not obstruct it with the pressure gauge, I bent the pressure gauge bracket such that I could mount it to the left side strap bolt for the gas tank. Came out ok.

The jail bars that came off the bus had some deep scuff marks and I had a hard time finding a new set from a reputable source (not Izz) until a wise guy from WW (Mr. Morris) suggest I make a set, so I did.

The tubing cost $65 with enough material to make all new pieces. Same diameter on the outside, but a little thicker tube so should hold up better then OE.

Used an old 8 inch Bazooka tube for the bends, almost an exact angle.

That bracket is exactly what I needed, but I guess I didnt search hard enough to find one. Thanks for the tip, it's on order.
