|
|
Picked up a barn find original owner 66 and was wondering about what I think are dealer accessories. A under back seat heater. A rear window speaker box. And the real cool one a glovebox mounted clock with trim. Anyone know a little about these? Thanks |

Photos, please!
Accessory heaters were usually in the front compartment, and would not have fit under the seat. Might be an aftermarket blower/heater.
Speaker boxes were usually home-made.
The dash clock may have been from an earlier year. Here are some in the gallery:

^………Very cool! You didn't mention it being a vert, so if its not, then it also has a vert glovebox lock.
The trim is not attached to the clock, correct? _________________ WANTED: Henry Veale Santa Rosa plate frames

No not and original accessory, or rare, but a pretty unique, and a nice repurpose of other parts.

It looks to have a 58-61 fuel gauge delete grille trim, and a speedo grille trim on either side of the clock. _________________ WANTED: Henry Veale Santa Rosa plate frames

Not rare, its a split window deluxe bus clock. I cant say I care for it in the glove box lid like that. It would have looked much better mounted inbetween the headlight and wiper switches but I know space is a bit tight behind there with the wiper. That heater switch isnt VW its just a generic aftermarket switch that was sold in the 40's, 50's etc. I've sold a few N.O.S ones in the past. I can only imagine its hooked up to some other generic aftermarket heater that was available several decades ago. _________________ Formerly known in the forums as "OVALTEEN"

I have a 66 as well. Anyone know where one can find a list of OEM accessories that were offered for a 66? |
