Anyone at SEMA this week?
Know of any Vanagons or good VW's to see?
If I see another jeep I'm going to honk. |

SEMA is awesome, I'd be there this year if I wasn't working (frantically) on Maya Rally plans. Maybe next year, they have some awesome junk there. _________________ 86 syncro CHC, NorthWesty subbie 2.5, decoupler, locker, custom interior, 225/75r16 Duratrack's on CLK's, Toyo cabin heater, ARB fridge, 300w Zamp Solar, Gowesty bumpers/skid/rails, Fiama awning

SEMA is not open to the public. You have to be affilliated somehow with a motorsports or automotive business. (not hard to do)
Tickets are $25. _________________ Mother Nature is a Mean Evil Bitch! |

I went to SEMA on Monday when it was only open for students. Didn't see much interesting stuff besides an OG Cobra and a trophy truck. Wish I could have gone on some other days but I had three exams on Tuesday and was in Mexico by Wednesday...Maybe next year. _________________ 36hp '56 European DeLuxe oval, '70 bug 1835cc dual 36DRLA, and a '98 4x4 5spd single cab Tacoma |

Monday was move in day, so there probably wasn't lot to see. But that "OG Cobra" was a little more than that - it is CSX2000 - the first Cobra ever made, that's right the prototype!
As for VW's, these were the only two I saw, but then again I spent all my time working the PerTronix Booth and didn't get to walk around much.

It may just be that I haven't got a good look at the New new beetle, but it looks like that car has a chop top.
Probably just the way they are built now. |

If you mean the new campervan (T6?)- no I was referring to the new electric microbus. _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.

I was at SEMA Monday night and Tuesday morning
We brought the Hyundai Electric Ioniq Race car up for the Optima Street Car Challenge this coming weekend. I only stayed the one day because I had to get back home for the Trick-orTreaters, but I was on the clock so it's all good LOL.
anyway, I saw one bug myself, but it was a Baja.
I went to the EMPI booth and was disappointed. It was sparse and almost like they didn't even try. You'd figure that they would at least have a bug in their booth- nope.
The whole show was basically late model cars with updated drivetrains and accouterments . Not my cup o' tea personally. And I'm not a celeb fanboy, so I wasnt hounding peeps for autographs either. I did see Wayne Carini on the floor , so I shook his hand and told him thanks for doing the show and for his work with Autism Speaks. I stayed a few hours and headed home. _________________ My Photobucket for my Herbie Project - http://s1288.photobucket.com/user/TK-439/library/Herbie?sort=3&page=1
