over the years as a machinist i have made parts for all sorts of cars, off road vehicles, snowmobiles .... i even made some parts for the space station!

is there anything people need that is not reproduced currently or is hard to find?
or even something that could be made better, lighter....stronger?

Did you see this thread (or maybe it motivated you)?

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=502437

From that thread, I would also like to see the coat hook/seatbelt holder reproduced in aluminum.

Metal part from the early stool?
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Wonder how much that would cost to ship though.

when you say "metal part" do you mean the entire leg assembly or is there a part missing in that photo?

to confirm, you mean the style that matches the interior in your avatar photo correct?
the white round ones that always break in the middle?

yeah just the leg assembly, looks pretty easy to do if you got a pipe bender!

mud flap brackets.

unless im mistaken and someone has stepped up lately, it's one of those pieces that everyone wants but nobody reproduces. there's DIY diagrams out there, and a lot of people just hack up whatever universal ones come with the beetle mud flaps - but do date nobody has ever made the bus ones.

I think in terms of cost Vs volume of users that would be interested in buying them - that would be a killer investment opportunity. Surprising really that nobody has yet to fill that void.

I think we're on the same page. For reference this one, which surprise surprise is broken (disregard the arrow, pulled this from the gallery).
