This might sound stupid, but how do you remove the antenna from a '72 Super? VW Trends mentions in an article about restoring a '71 Super that you unscrew the nut on the top of the telescoping shaft, after inserting the antenna into the mounting hole from inside the trunk. Any clues on how to move the antenna to get it into the hole? I hate to have to remove the hood and hinge bracket.
What's on the car now is an aftermarket job that appears to be attached by a threaded cap on the cable. It should be easy to remove this puppy, but I can't even lay my fingers on the threaded cap, much less do anything else.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. |

Thanks for all the advice. I guess I'll get a bigger hammer and force it out! |
