It's been years, but I thought I'd throw out this name again. I had my 1963 panel camper ripped and stripped in 1986 here in San Diego. 6 months later all I got back was an empty shell. The shell was found in a rented garage that the renter had not paid his rent on for 3 months. The rentals owner cut the lock and found my bus inside. He contacted DMV with the vin #. That's how I got it back. The garage was rented by a guy named Roland Knobs. When I went to the address he listed on the rental agreement I found that he had just moved out the week before. The land lady said his car that he couldn't get it running was still in back. I went out back and there was a bus sitting there. I opened the deck lid and saw my motor. It smelled fried and there was no fan belt. I crawled under and there was my transmission. I called the cops and they impounded it. I got my motor and trans back. The motor was seized, but the trans to this day still runs fine. I got a few other parts back, but not even enough of what I needed to put my bus back together. To this day I keep an eye out for the one of a kind custom parts I made for it. Roland Knobs is a thief so beware. _________________ Prosit!
