I'm about 100 miles away in the Lehigh Valley, but you don't want to see my Thing in its current state hah body off and currently doing rear rocker repair. Plus my work has been ground to a halt by me breaking my welding regulator and too cold to do body filler.
Is this your first time in the north east at the end of fall? |

I was up in Hartford area last year for Irene damages. so it was a little earlier. sounds like in the midst of a fun project. I know we will be shifting around the areas. there are several folks i work with in the PA area.
good luck on project |

Happy New Year, I'm about 8 miles from Paramus, exit 161 off GSP to RT4.
My Thing has been on jack stands for 2 years since I got it; new disc brakes, Tri Mil exhaust, a lot of patches welded in, gas tank cleaned, replaced starter and ignition switch so now it starts and runs. After I send carb to Volksbitz and weld in rear pans and finish upholstery I hope to be able to drive this year.

Copy that...where can we drive on sand at the Shore?
I need a top & curtains as well, together the Thing shop top
would cost as much as I paid for the car, my frame is bent &
rusted, not gonna mess with it.
Right now its covered by a tarp under a deck, I have to pick my
days to work on it.
Every road is paved up here, would like to find some trails,
may be up in Sussex county or down in the Pine Barrens.
Dreams....gotta get it on the road first.
I'm going to drive mine sans top while I save $, rode motorcycles
for years. The Thing will have heated seats & no top for a while
what could go wrong? _________________ 74 Thing 1600DP
