I drove my wife to breakfast this morning, no problem on the way there. Upon leaving once I got out on the road it started to hesitate upon accelerating. It quickly descended into a rhythmic loss of power/sudden burst of power. It idles fine and revs fine while in neutral. It only does this when the engine is under load, such as punching the pedal or going up a hill. Fuel pressure shows good at idle, I have no way to test it while driving. I did recently install a new pertronix ignitor to replace the one I killed with a dead battery. Any thoughts?

What Kind of motor is it? Carb/Fuel injection? Got any of those details?

You should keep this with your other thread to ensure continuity. It could be many things:

AFM sweeper field
fuel pressure
clogged fuel filter
unplugged AFM (not likely)
Ignition system
TS2

The list goes on. You need to try and narrow it down. If this occurred since installing the pertronix, then I would look at that very closely.

At least in modern cars that is a classic symptom of bad plug wires.
