This was an all fiberglass kit. Sort of an El Camino version. glassed onto a bug. |

When you said that you had posted pics of the bug in the gallery I thought that was the pics you were talking about. I didn't notice that they were from 2006.
I made the mistake. Sorry.
It still looked cool though. |

I have a 1970 bug with such a kit on it. Also has dual headlight front fenders and exhaust stacks. Similar to the hound dog. |

HI Everyone, The bed body IS called Lil Hound Dog, as I can see the faint outline decal under the coats of paint on the tailgate. It is fiberglass, its a heavy duty bed.
I don't know much about it other than the previous owner was told there were only 25 of these bed made..... true?, I have no idea. Would be VERY interested if anyone else knows some additional background history. THANKS
This is my current rat rod project, a jet powered 1964 VW Beetle called THE JET BUG. Im in the "early" stages of designing and building. The 1500cc drive me around and the real jet engine with afterburner will be used for FIRE, SMOKE, and NOISE exhibitions (not for speed). Looking forward to a FUN project.
