This last summer the clutch pedal in my 68 was feeling dry and unsmooth. So I took the cluster out and completely dissassembled and cleaned it. When I reassembled, I lubed it up good with Bosch distributor grease. It felt great! But about a month ago, it started feeling dry again, like before.

So ... what is the recommended lube for the pedal cluster?

I used superlube, it has a teflon additive so it doesn't attract dirt like other greases.

I used universal synthetic grease on mine not sure what is best. Think it was mobil 1. Some use lithium and other use distributor grease.

I used standard wheel bearing grease. It's been good to go for over 6 years now.

There is a chance it got wet a while back when one of the cowl-drain hoses came off. Maybe that did it.

Thanks guys. I'll take it back apart sometime this 4-day weekend. Cool

Ouch! How'd you get battery acid in your pedal assembly?

leaked, then wicked up the carpet all the way to the front got into the pedals.

This is the only reason I have one Gerson pan half waiting. the other side is perfect, still all factory original paint and all.

So I'd like to add a grease fitting. And it isn't obvious to me where it should go. There's a shaft within a tube within another tube.

Can someone show me a picture?

Max
