|
|
I have an 87 automatic and their is no clear way to take the cable off the throttle lever atop the engine. Normally, the lever would have a slot so that you can simply take tension off it and roll the barrel end of the cable and off it comes. This setup is the same, minus the slot, as if you have to bend the lever open to remove it. Seems kinda sketchy, so looking for wisdom.
The Bentley is its usual help "Remove throttle cable".
I'm prepping to pull the engine if that helps on the advice.

Can you believe it?
I got too comfortable getting my "van fix" from wheeling around in the Mitsubishi. But then spring arrived and I imagined my wife and I pulling into a cool spot in Montana by the river, and having that nice comfy bed, reading lights, etc. So it motivated me. Tragically, I blew half the 5 hours I had available just moving crud that had already accumulated around the stationary van. But the the engine is about 2 hours away from being dropped. I also put some PB Plaster on various things other have had trouble loosening. Tranny accelerator cable ball connection, and motor mount bolts. I should get the the engine on the ground in the next couple days. _________________ 1987 2WD Wolfsburg Vanagon Weekender "Mango", two fully locked 80 Series LandCruisers. 2017 Subaru Outback boxer. 1990 Audi 90 Quattro 20V with rear locking differential, 1990 burgundy parts Vanagon. 1984 Porsche 944, 1988 Toyota Supra 5 speed targa, 2002 BMW 325iX, 1982 Toyota Sunrader |

Ha! I never thought of this before, but I bet gowesty, bus depot, etc. make like 1/2 their year's $ in just the spring months : )
