I remodelled houses for years, working out of my '84 GL. All my tools and up to 16 sheets of 1/2" sheathing - the van never let me down.
The roof rack was perfect for carrying 20' joist and rafter material.

It might not show, but my ex-T5 always ran with building materials in it. Nicest feature: fully laden (3.2t) it still had lots of torque pulling it along.
My ex-doka with vindic canopy doing its duties.
My ex sika syncro (why, oh why did I let it go...) with crane and worklight. It got put to work on a few building projects. Unbeatable for getting building materials to remote sites
Lots of T4s are still in use. This one belongs to the local county administration.
T5b with offroad package. Belongs to the local steel mill.
This top-of-the-ilne 180hp, LWB, 4-motion, T5b does duty as a hotel shuttle.
T5a, doka, 4-motion. Mining company runaround.
T5b. Camping site workhorse.
T5b, 140 hp, 4-motion. Camping site workshorse.
Trucking company assostance car.

I recognize that crate - that's the one you sent my engine in. I remember laughing like hell at the "Under, not Through" directions to the forklift operator.. _________________ Marius Strom Otto: 1988 Vanagon Syncro Westy Camper

Here's a pic of my Jagwagen circa '07....
I've always used them for what they were intended, from my '58 singlecab (EINKA) to my '71 singlecab (EINKA) to my'89 Jagdwagen (DOKA)(although I don't use it it for shooting deer).....It's a quite amazing platform...

And another load of firewood in the camper. The gate across the door allows me to load more in.

I have a pic somewhere of my van all loaded up pulling a trailer full of tools to go build a skateboard park and on top of the trailer is all the bent/radiused coping for the bowl. Westy: tool hauler, material hauler, housing, and food truck for the job, oh yea! _________________

Did some electrical work at my Aunts Condo in Huntington Beach this weekend. The ladder looks better on here than on my regular work truck.
