is 1800 or b.o good for a 73 super. there is one for sale down the street and i think i want to buy it. i already have a 60 hardtop that i'm going to keep stock. and thinking about buying this super to do what ever i want in it. but anyways. i looked at it, and it has a rivited something on the floor pan. is that good? but thats about all i noticed, i forgot to check the other things. the owner wasn't home.

There are lots of things to consider before saying a Bug is or is not worth $1800.

How is the body? Is it original, "bondoed" or rusty & beat up?

What about the drivetrain? Rebuilt anything?

Interior can be a little pricey to have redone.

My guess is that if it's in pretty decent mechanical & body condition, you'd be getting a pretty good deal. $1800 "obo" might mean $1700 or even $1500.

Since you are in the rusty part of the US, look for "bad" rust. Heater channels, wheel wells, rear window. Use a magnet to look for bondo. IMO, it would be cheaper to buy a plane ticket to CA or AZ, buy a beetle, drive it back than buy one in rust country.
