Hi guys,
got a kinda strange problem, might be solved allready but just checking with you guys.
so here's the thing....when my engine is at operating temp, choke is fully open, everything is fine.
every now and again , like every 20 or so rpms it "hickups" backfired once,, sounds like a spark plug or something, now here's the strange part, the right hand (facing the engine) cylinder tins get warmer than the left, is this normal ? or the result of a bad plug? _________________ THE BUILD http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php

Could it be running lean? _________________ 1969 Beetle (Just finished a complete pan off restoration, SWEET! Runs like I imagine a new Beetle would!)

If you have the single carb, one thing that can cause one side to run lean is a leak in the intake, either at the rubber boot or the head intake gasket. Get the car running and spray these areas with carb cleaner. Any noticable change wil indicate a leak.
That's how I found my leaking throttle shaft in one of my Weber 34 ICT's. _________________ I'm not losing my hair, it's just retired and relocating further south.
