Is there a thread showing differences in instrument panel/gauge clusters from year to year? Looking for more than just gauge differences, also the layout of the panel itself. I know some had heat/defrost marks, others didn't, etc. |

If you change the dash cluster from oringinal what will you gain?
the only difference is the lever pic's for heat and fresh air symbols.
and fuel gauge.
The early years to 1973 used a different( zenor diode) Vibrator for the fuel gauge to correspond to the sending unit.
It won't make your bus any faster.
And, Where the hell is "seekin Street"! I mean 2nd St..........

Mine is brown thats different!
Anyway... Ignoring the gauge changes:
the e-brake light moved around,
The number air controllers went from 3 to 4.
The air controller signage got lit up and then reverted to painted on... My parts bin has a 74 cluster and has the illuminated plastic my 78 is painted.
And The fuel gauge vibrator changed design... As chris indicated.
I think thats it.
Oh, and the way that held it to the rest of the dash changed from cross bars to clips. _________________ Champagne Edition Roadtrip monster "Juakali"

I am swapping gauge clusters in my 1970 bus with another that is in much better shape. My question is the wire swap. In the pic the top cluster is the one I am swapping out to the lower. I am looking for help with the wire positions. I don't know what year the replacement cluster is from.
Thanks for your help.
