Finally got a pic on a bridge, not to many in my neck of the mountains. This bridge is at the bottom of the Salt River Canyon, AZ.

Crossing the Rocks Village Bridge in West Newbury, MA built between 1883 and 1895. It is also the oldest movable span bridge in Mass and still operated by hand.

We didn't know that this abandoned bridge was supposed to be closed, because there was no sign on the side we approached from! Had to reverse all the way back because the gate was locked shut.

Oops.

I suppose this counts as a low-water bridge.

I decided to get off the interstate and take a side road today, and was excited when I realized I'd be driving across this bridge and remembered the thread.

This bridge isn't much to look at at first glance. But what makes it somewhat unique is the bridge deck is a kind of mesh grate, so you can look down out of your car window and see the river below! I've always thought it was neat to drive over because of this feature. (Except the time I rode my motorcycle over it, the grates kept "grabbing" the wheel and pulling it from side to side.)

Somewhat sadly, they are building a modern bridge next to it so I suppose this bridge's day's are numbered.

It was difficult getting a shot where I could both show the bus and the fact that you can see the river below, so here are my best attempts. I drove over it a couple times (4 total, two back and forth) and was able to get out once because there was no other traffic. Man, I didn't expect how creepy it would feel to be standing on the bridge until I hopped out of the bus! I had to hurry because it is very narrow.
