Saw this split bus in the background of a movie that was released in 2010, from the google maps view dated 2012, it looks like the bus is still there.

Just watched the movie on Netflix today, scrambled through the 'This day in Bus Hunting History' post 2010 to see if someone had already 'found' it, didn't see it posted anywhere. Since the location is a little ways away from me I will send a letter the the property address to see if she has any interest in selling and go from there. After that I would be glad to share the movie / bus address. _________________ WTB: for '66 Kombi

all three mirrors look new
but the emblem is crust
Seeing it in a movie (what kind of movie does that kind of close up?...hmm) then placing it at a location you know of and finding it in Google maps is a huge jump, it will be interesting to someday hear how you made the connection.
One other odd thing is how the grass is mowed the similarly in both images.
hmm, is this April 1st ? _________________ 63 15 window deluxe Turkis walk through 1500

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. If he has address maybe listed under a ladys name. Do the leaves fall off the trees in socal in the winter? reflections on windshield looks like big tree like on google pic. |

I'm guessing guys like you come out off the woodwork all of the time.
I have nothing to gain by posting fake pics etc.. as stated earlier the bus is not close to me (leaves / surrounding vegetation).
I watch Netflix on a HTPC on my 55" tv at 1080p resolution (1920x1080) so I actually had to reduce the image resolution to meet the 1600px upload requirements.
I do not know if the owner of the bus is a she, from the movie I only know the property owner is a she. Thanks for asking though. geesh.... _________________ WTB: for '66 Kombi

So what conspiracy is Mouldy being accused of ?...
He finds a bus to share
It sounds as if, he is not interested in being the new owner and might be offering up info on the bus?
-or-
He wants the bus, but made the common excitable mistake of sharing a lead w/Samba Trolls?
Are the sceptics assuming he knows the owner and perhaps "pumping-up" the interest for potential buyers for the benefit of said owner?
This thread stinks like shit already... _________________ Defying conventional wisdom since 1970 |

I know this is jump starting an old topic. Would anyone near Central/Eastern NY want to run this lead down? I'm on the west coast so it's a bit far to just drive by for me. _________________ WTB: for '66 Kombi
