I have WW wheel well repair pieces to weld in too. Did your WW panels have wrinkles at both ends where the raised lip dissapears. Mine have these wrinkles and I wondered how you got rid of them if you had the same issues.
Nice work too. _________________ Waiting for santa to drop off funky green. I can wish can't I???? |

Yes the black WW repair panels were wrong in every way. The wheel lip profile was even wrong. I had to split it and reshape it and weld it back together to get the stock lip profile appearance. I went here locally to Ronnies Garage AKA Bustoration.com and bought the correct pieces. I had to splice into the back to get the correct flange to corner for spot welding and get the short rocker i think he calls it to splice in to the fornt for a door jamb opening and flange and also Ronnies pieces have the door hinge hole and hinge bolts holes already in them. The WW is also worng on the bottom as there is not enough room to correctly spot weld onto the the inner rocker. Give Ronnie a call at Bustoration.com and he would be glad to help you. The worse part for me was working with the black WW panels period. They are a nightmare to weld on and a nightmare to hammer and dolly or shrink. The green metal by far is a superior product. Not that Ronnie is a friend of mine being a biased opinion on green metal, but it is night and day working with the two metals. If you need more pictures of how I spliced all 3 pieces together to make one PM me your adress and I'll send you some close up pictures to help you out. Maybe just sell those WW panels at the next swap and buy the Green metal KF panels and have it right the first time. If I ever have to do these repairs again I'll never use the black WW panels. Hope this helps. |

Sorry to everyone waiting on more pictures. The holiday week has been crazy. I did finish up Joes White bus and I will post pictures tommorow. I have been working on a Double cab for the last couple nights cutting out rust and putting new green metal in. I will start a thread on this tommorow or the next day also. Thanks for all the great responses so far! It keeps me motivated to see people like the work that is getting done. |

The saga continues. I had some time in between my other busses to work on this bus some more. He brought it back over this morning for me to take out the wrong baywindow windows that were installed and repair it with a 3 window section that he salvaged.

I was trying and planning on putting it on in one piece, but it wasn't working out. I split the panels, took out the pillars so I can repair those and I will reassemble it right. It is a lot of work, but will be worth it when its all done.
more pictures to come tommorow. |

Isn't it supposed to be a panel? |

supposed to be a panel yes. I tried until I was blue in the face to make it back into a panel, but this is what he wants. |
