thanks for the response. I like the setup. That should cover any kind of fire you might have. _________________ Like a midget at a urinal, I'm always on my toes

Hopefully... But even more hopeful I'll never need it.... _________________ -Adam

Is anyone running the 3-foot length in a bus? |
I think they come in lengths of 2 or 3 Meters . I just ordered a 2 meter one for my bus.

I think it's better to have some more volume, that's why I installed this Firetec system:

I was wondering as I installed the 6 foot application how someone would mount the 9 foot model, given the rigidity of the tube and maintaining the recommended six inch bend radius.

It's a good system, they have been used in industry for decades, pretty common
option on sinker EDM's back in the day.
Another thought I have is a door or flap on the inside of the air intake louvers, put one of those parts washer melting tab's on it some how so that the flaps or door shuts when it reaches the critical temp, that way the OXYGEN available for the fire is reduced dramatically, assuming all your tin and seals are in place, and leave the deck lid closed in the event of a fire, maybe spray extinguisher thru vents, again cutting off air supply.
This would buy time for extinguishing the fire (if it doesn't burn it's self out) with on board fire extinguisher.
Even with the blaze cut I would carry an extinguisher. _________________ 73 Type 181

Bumping this up to ask: does a bus need a 10 ft application? I see ads here recommend that length for bus and Ghia. I have a shorter one on my Ghia and seems about right (not sure what length). Just asking cause price for a a 10ft is steep right now. _________________ Instagram: @juanskombi

Does it need a 10ft? Maybe, maybe not, but it also doesn't need one at all. I have the big guy installed because I'd rather have more than not enough. That being said, anything is probably better than nothing, and as others have mentioned, even with Blazecut, one should still keep a fire extinguisher in the cab. _________________ -Adam
