Tires are 175/70r14 so speedo is like 10% fast. |
One of the best arguments I've seen for a Suby conversion. |

You know it!!!
All I was saying was that I think that the fastest bus should have a proper ACVW engine. Other wise it is a hybrid and no longer a proper VW.
I'm personally down with all mods people do, to each his own. As far as not being let into a show that's just BS. If you are gonna compare/race it should be with similer set ups. No way a ACVW engine will keep up with a ej22. _________________ __________

You can do anything you want with an air cooled as far as making power. My way was just more economical.
As long as your limited by stock gearing your top speed will be roughly the same anyway because that's going to be rpm limited. I'll just get there faster than you!

With this line of thinking a 1776 vs. a 2110 is not a fair race either.
On the street no one cares, the fastest is the fastest. |

20B single turbo, the other purple and white bus is EJ22 powered to give you a scale of how quick it is.
I've got a vid on youtube but its those same two, just a different run.
It was at 715hp last dyno and its his daily driver so you can imagine the fun he has in it.
Its loves munching Porsche transmissions though.

I wonder if the 13b engine would be a fun swap? I see them for sale for not much, the 20b's are like 5 grand with all the wiring and a trans. I might make one of these Wankel buses! _________________ 1971 Deluxe Sunroof Bay 1905 stroker, dual idf40's, 74mm Scat forged crank, engle 110 cam. Unless you put a big boost turbo set up on and don't mind revving the tits off it you will be very dissapointed.
Rotarys make decent power (13B is on a par with an EJ22) but bugger all torque, fine for pushing around a light weight RX_ or bug but no good for a heavy bus.
Have a read about Mazdas greatest fuck up, the Roadpacer if you wanna see why its a bad idea.

I accidentally popped a little wheelie the other day on the street trying to get around a truck at a stop light... How do you know if your popping a wheelie and not just unloading the front suspension? Steering gets real light for a second =] |

Is having the fastest, slow car anything like being the prettiest ugly chick? |
11.3 seconds in the quarter is fast for any car, not fast for a slow car. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Ugly is the new pretty. |

What's your gearing and what RPMs are you turning in 4th at highway speeds (55,65 MPH )? _________________ Formerly known in the forums as "OVALTEEN"
