reverse the color scheme on the bumper and that bus is there. seriously, I also like the color scheme (except the backwards painted bumper). _________________ .

I also agree to leave the paint as it is and createh some bold logos for your shop that match the color scheme. Something that screams 1950s.
If you're set on restoring to original, it looks like it's apart and shouldn't be a huge project. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

Congratulations for such find Hugo. It's really an happy bus with no major metal work to do.
answering to your questions, at that time in early 50's the van has no legal requirement to have two rearview mirrors, portuguese road laws at the time only imposed one rearview mirror, on the interior or outside on the left of the driver's position.
the sunvisor to the driver was (and still is yet) a legal requirement, so your van should have one.
hope to have helped you. |

color=darkblue]Hi everybody,
First of all, thanks for all your comments.
@ HUGO bOSS, Hi my friend how are you? You are one of the firsts to know this new project.
@ SplitBusFan, Hi my compatriot! Thanks for your answers. In what concerns with the mirror the doubt is only the interior, the exterior of course I will put one. The sun visor, are you sure? Can you get me a photo?
Thank in advance

there's more than likely no other VW Bus on the planet with that color scheme. so your's would stand out(that's good). not just another Bus that looks like every other one.People tend to walk right past a car that look alike, but something toitally different gets attention. _________________ '72 Karmann Ghia Coupe (the Boss's) |

color=darkblue]Oh!
I think your are talking about the sun visor.
Yes the color combination is singular, but I prefer original like left the factory.
Thanks and regards

I agree with Lind on flipping the colors on the bumper, but I would also go one step further and paint the roof in the same red as well as paint the cargo area in factory grey. Logos would really tie it all in.
I like the Panel Hugo....Very nice! _________________ ----VW's in my garage----

I though I've seen this before.
I saw it when it sat at Antonio's place in 2011
I'd put some fresh white wheels under it and roll it in the Portuguese summer _________________ oUr rOaDTrIp adVeNTuReS
