There are a lot of activities in our area. Many are organized by facebook groups.

Here are the local facebook groups for those that partake.

Maryland Vanagon Connection

https://www.facebook.com/groups/368723107207889

Virginia Vanagons

https://www.facebook.com/groups/VirginiaVanagons

Susquehanna Valley Vanagons (PA group)

https://www.facebook.com/groups/valleyvanagons

And an overall group

Full Moon Bus Club

https://www.facebook.com/groups/FullMoonBusClub

Note: Skip to the last page or two for current gathering details/discussion.

We have a critical mass for a gathering of us Mid-Atlantic Vanagon folks. Very Happy

I'm game for hosting the first get together and I'd bet that Alaric is up for one also.

What you say for getting together every other month at a member's place or a local establishment?

I'm thinking March for the first one. Comments?

Just posted to the other thread before seeing this one, but I'm up for a meet up. Katie's Cars and Coffee in Great Falls could be a good destination for a first get together.

I'm in

I vote for Alaric's place where we can ogle the tools, or Dave's where we can ogle the Porsche.

I'll bring the fermented beverages

Do we have to have a Westy? I have a poor, humble tintop. But if you'll allow me to join the 'club', I'd be up for meeting somewhere in March.

Katie's Cars and Coffee is always fun, I frequently drive one of my old Fiats there and meet up with cohorts from our club DCFiats. I've never seen a Vanagon there, but there's a guy with a very cool old Microbus, heavily decorated in finest hippie-van style, who shows up regularly.

Or anywhere else, machts nicht to me.

I discovered Katie's Cars and Coffee earlier this year and took my Westy there twice. I was pleasantly surprised by the attention it got despite sitting among high end Lambos and Ferraris.

Looking good for a GTG.

I'll take a look at the calendar and propose a date and location for late March. Very Happy

HI all

I think this is a fantastic Idea. Definitely count me and "VAN-a-WHITE" in. Just let me know when and where. I do like the idea of camping at some of our gettogethers. We could have some spirited conversations around the campfire don't you think?

I hope and know dspieg was joking when he referred to his TinTop as poor & humble. Van-a is a 2WD non westy Freeway Flier and we love going camping with her. We are one of the few non westies there. But, The way I see it, people who camp cook outside so there is really no need for a stove and a cooler takes the place of a fridge. A cooler at the picnic table is more convenient if you want another beer. You don't have to walk so far. Also our nonwesty isn't cramped inside and the best camping feature of all. We have a queen size bed. Mrs Nik, our 100 lb Bernese Mountain Dog and I fit comfortably. When not camping we don't have to drag all that dead weight around thus getting better gas mileage. The only downside if you think of it as such is we cannot stand up in her. But who stands around in their Van that much anyways lol.

I am in Annapolis MD and would be interested.

I have a cool location for camping here in Annapolis or out on the Eastern Shore of MD.
If people are interested in a get together we can camp at let me know.

I suspect I would leave this get together with a bad case of a mechanical inferiority complex. Smile

Unfortunately as much as I want to, I probably won't be able to do a camp out in March. I have an infant who is not quite ready to brave the elements (I am planning on taking him to Natural Bus this summer though).

My vote is to do a meetup/cruise in March.
